Chris McGuire
Lead Instructor
About Me
Chris McGuire has been one of Arboriculture Canada’s (ACTE) chainsaw specialist instructors since 2013.
Alberta born and farm raised, Chris lives on an acreage in Spring Lake, Alberta with his wife and two daughters. His entire work experience and history of over 30 years has involved chainsaw operation as a key component. That journey has led to arboriculture where he has found his true passion: learning and teaching. He has achieved his ISA Certified Arborist qualification and the TRAQ ISA (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) and has attended two ACTE Chainsaw Train the Trainer events. Chris is also an ACTE qualified Chainsaw Operator Technician and Aerial Lift Operator Technician. He particularly enjoys delivering safety and skills training to Power Linemen throughout western and northern Canada.

Chris' keen interest in the Arboriculture industry means he is on a constant journey of education and experience to hone his skills and deliver safe, effective training in every situation.

Chris works for the City of Spruce Grove as Lead Arborist and devotes many of his nights, weekends and holiday time to his career in the Canadian Armed Forces Primary Reserve. That; combined with his contract training for Arboriculture Canada means he is happiest when learning from others and developing his training skills.

For Chris, 'Time on the Trigger' with the students is the most satisfying part of training!
