Utility Linemen - Hazard & Danger Tree Cutting for Power Restoration

Length: 3 Days
Private Training: This course is available for private/custom course delivery for companies or organizations with a group of people that require training.
This training program is designed specifically for power linemen who are emergency responders and need to deal with trees that have fallen onto power lines or other obstacles. Often risks associated with this environment are increased as they occur during or after a major storm event.

Participants are taught chainsaw safety, cutting techniques and are educated in risk assessment and work plan strategies which focus on the risks the tree poses to the worker based on tree species, characteristics, wood mass and size, weather and loading. These strategies are designed to ensure worker safety through work planning, teamwork and specialty cutting techniques and equipment. Practical demonstration and hand’s on opportunities utilize various tools and equipment to overcome tree-cutting difficulties such as snags, excessive lean, and high tension

Any power lineman or worker who needs to remove trees from the power system after storm events. This course is designed to educate and train new workers as well as experienced chainsaw operators in specialized techniques.

Testimonials

I thoroughly enjoyed the Train the Trainer program. The information presented and the learning techniques were brought forward in a challenging, fun way. The course required us to step out of our comfort zone, but the rewards were fabulous. I would recommend this course for several reasons.

I learned about myself and the power of collective energy. I look forward to serving in this platoon but mostly I feel honored to have spent this past week with seven of the coolest trainers I've ever met.
